INTJ💞INFJ
INTJ (Ni-Te-Fi-Se) + INFJ (Ni-Fe-Ti-Se)
Potential for Conflict
Ni: Both types have a similar outlook in terms of being perceptive and intellectually inclined. They are future-oriented and work towards long term vision. They see the world through ideals and usually have high standards and often veer into perfectionism. They generally feel uncomfortable in chaotic social situations and dislike being surrounded by strangers. They might exacerbate the negative aspects of Ni for each other.
Te-Fi v. Fe-Ti: INTJs are usually quite driven in terms of knowing what they want, knowing what they like/dislike, and having concrete goals; whereas INFJs, with their focus on human complexity, have a relatively harder time forming clear goals and taking decisive action because they need more time to figure out problems in a more global way. Thus, INTJs might view INFJs as unfocused or indecisive, and INFJs might view INTJs as rigid or inflexible. INTJs are sensitive to breaches in logic, focus attention on their own internal experience, and have difficulty sensing, processing, and expressing emotion, which might strike INFJs as self-absorbed, neglectful, or insensitive. INFJs are very attuned to the opinions and emotions of others, value social cohesion, and are more expressive but also more likely to be internally conflicted, which might strike INTJs as being oversensitive, confused, irrational, or overbearing.
Se: Both can be quite out of touch with the physical world and immediate details and can have difficulty adapting to rapid environmental changes. They usually need time to prepare and perfect things privately and dislike jumping blindly into new situations. As a romantic couple, they might not be adventurous or spontaneous enough.
Opportunities for Growth and Balance
INTJs and INFJs can achieve a deep mutual understanding as long as they are able to be patient with each other and complement one another. INTJs can help INFJs be more objective and view situations in a more impersonal and logical way, which will allow them to resolve inner conflicts and balance their emotional life. INFJs can help INTJs be more in touch with how they feel and build more comfort with expressing their emotions openly, which will allow INTJs to strike a better balance in relationships and develop appreciation for social life.
Being introverted, they process information inwardly, so it is important that both try to keep the lines of communication open. They should learn to express their needs in a timely and neutral way before emotions become too intense and cause both parties to withdraw.
INTJs should avoid judging INFJs as overemotional and INFJs should avoid judging INTJs as cold and uncaring. INTJs should try harder to avoid being too harsh and learn to frame criticism in a positive or encouraging light. INFJs should try harder to avoid using a judgmental or accusatory tone and learn to frame criticism in terms of improvement/potential rather than using personal attacks that make unfair assumptions about internal/hidden motives.
As a romantic couple, they would need to put more effort into getting enough outside social interaction rather than relying on each other too much. They should also try to be more spontaneous now and then, and use Se appropriately to enjoy the present moment, sharing relaxing physical activities together like meals, exercise, or physical skill-building.
