ENTJ (Te-Ni-Se-Fi) + ENFJ (Fe-Ni-Se-Ti)

⚙️ ENTJ
💖 ENFJ

Potential for Conflict

Te v. Ti: ENTJs tend to take an impersonal, problem-solving approach to life, whereas ENFJs have difficulty seeing life, especially themselves/relationships, in an objective/impersonal way. Thus, ENTJs might see ENFJs as irrational, illogical, or inconsistent, and ENFJs might see ENTJs as cold, insensitive, or overly critical.

Ni: Both enjoy intellectual exploration and seek one truth to explain reality. ENTJs tend to use Ni to strategize and plan, whereas ENFJs tend to use Ni to understand people and relationships. So, ENTJs might see ENFJs as limited or narrow-minded, and ENFJs might view ENTJs as missing the point or out of touch with what really matters.

Se: Both can use Se defensively for vain or attention-seeking reasons, so both could view the other as superficial, stubborn, or misguided.

Fi v. Fe: ENTJs can have difficulty with processing or expressing emotions whereas ENFJs tend to encourage emotional exploration. So, ENTJs might see ENFJs as weak or oversensitive, and ENFJs might see ENTJs as repressed or callous.

Opportunities for Growth and Balance

This pair could complement each other well if they could learn from each other’s strengths and compensate for each other’s weaknesses. ENTJs could learn from ENFJs how to value relationships and deal with people more sensitively. ENFJs could learn from ENTJs how to approach problems/criticism more objectively/analytically.

ENTJs should understand that ENFJs value social cohesion and maintaining good relationships, so be more supportive of their efforts and be more willing to explore your own sensitivities. ENFJs should understand that ENTJs are natural problem solvers, so do not misinterpret their advice as criticism or take their words so personally.

Both tend to take a longer term view about life choices and commitments, so use this to your advantage and make sure you agree upon or can compromise about taking the same path forward, otherwise you might gradually grow apart. Maintain good focus on your mutual goals. Both can sometimes adopt values/standards that might be unhealthy or misguided. Make sure you discuss how you define “success” or achievement in terms of career, relationship, or life goals. It is important to balance the different aspects of your life in a way that makes it easier for you to maintain a healthy relationship.

In terms of conflict, both types should improve their ability to express dissatisfaction or negative emotions in a forthright and constructive manner. ENTJs can be too blunt or critical and ENFJs can be too blaming or accusatory. Keep communication open and calm whenever possible and do not leave problems unresolved.

Find an activity/project you can do together where you can combine your strengths and bond through good teamwork. Being extraverted, make sure you take enough time for private reflection so that you do not lose touch with your personal needs or priorities. Since both like to plan, try to be spontaneous now and then in order to keep the relationship fresh/exciting.
